What are your Shipping Policies & Rates? How soon can I expect my order?
All items are shipped through USPS. We ship only to locations within the Contiguous United States, District of Columbia, Alaska, and the Hawaiian Islands. Any orders placed with a shipping address outside of the Contiguous United States, District of Columbia, Alaska, and the Hawaiian Island will be cancelled. For current rates, click here.
Orders are shipped in 2-3 business days from your order date. However, during times of high-traffic (e.g. holidays and sales), an additional 2-3 business days may be required. When an order is completed, an email will be sent to the email address used at checkout, and this email will include a USPS tracking number and a notice of any refunds owed to you (e.g. shipping overages). Refunds are initiated after a package is accepted by the USPS.
My liquid soap arrived, and it is cloudy. It was supposed to be clear; what happened?
Our Foaming Hand Soap may become cloudy in extremely cold conditions. All natural liquid soap has a cloud point - the temperature at which the insolubles will precipitate out and create cloudiness that may look like tiny pellets or white streaks. In extreme cases (e.g. winter shipping), the soap may take on a completely opaque look and thicken. Once the soap is brought back to room temperature or warmer, it will clear back up.
If your soap is cloudy, keep in mind that there is nothing wrong with it and it will cleanse just as well as if it was clear.
How do I dispose of the packing peanuts? Are they environmentally friendly?
We use two types of packing peanuts, one is made from corn and the other from sorghum; they are all-natural with no toxic chemicals. You can toss these peanuts right into your compost pile, dissolve them in water and use as a fertilizer, or reuse them. Keep in mind that although the packing peanuts are compostable and safe for animals, they aren't for human consumption.
Do you accept PAYMENT through PayPal?
All transactions placed from www.SaranacMountainHearth.com are processed via Square Credit Card Processing. We apologize for the inconvenience, but at this time, we do not accept PayPay.
I ordered the wrong item; can I return it?
Orders that have not been completed may be cancelled with no penalty. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are temporarily suspending our return policy. All completed purchases are final.

Can I Cancel an Order?
Orders that have not been completed may be cancelled with no penalty. Cancellation requests received after an order has been completed fall under our return policy. Returns must be initiated within 30 days of delivery to receive a full refund of the purchase price (we do not refund shipping charges). 30 days begins at 12 am EST (midnight) of the first full calendar day following delivery. Please email admin@SaranacMountainHearth.com to request a return. All returns must be new, unused, and contain all original packaging and accessories. Returned items must be shipped through the same parcel service that delivered to you, and must provide Saranac Mountain Hearth with a Tracking Number. All items returned after 30 days are subject to a 10% restocking fee. All sales are final after 45 days.The refunded value for each item returned will be reduced to reflect the value of any free gift or discount. Merchandise on clearance at the time of return will be refunded at the current clearance price. All sales are final on clearance merchandise. Other restrictions may apply.
